The first Berndorf Band Group endless Steel Belt was used in a Casting System for film and foil production in 1923. Later, the first Berndorf high-tech Casting System was installed in 1996. International film and foil producers rely on the expertise of the Berndorf Band Group, which has in-depth technical know-how and state-of-the-art technology.

Casting & Drying Systems. Steel Belt Casting and Drying Systems enable the precise production of high-quality films and foils for various industries through a thermal drying process. Each product has different manufacturing processes and requires a precisely designed and coordinated system. Berndorf Band Group offers product-specific solutions and exact system calibration for safe and sustainable production.

INDIVIDUAL POLISHING LEVELS of steel belts FOR PERFECT Results. The high-quality standards in the production of films and foils require Steel Belts with specially treated surfaces. Only with steel of the highest purity class and a structureless polish, the high requirements for the precise production of optical films can be fulfilled. Berndorf Band Group is oriented to the individual requirements of end products as well as raw materials and offers Steel Belts with different surface finishes – mill finished, ground finished or polished. To protect the sensitive belt surface from contamination and damage until it is used by customers, new technologies were invented which can be removed again without residue.

The R&D and Test Center offers a wide range of options for your individual product development, process design and various test procedures. When visiting Berndorf, you benefit from the interaction of competent specialists with the latest technologies. Our experts can test individual processes for their effectiveness using various process steps. The pilot line for film casting offers you a unique opportunity to test the production engineering possibilities of water-based casting solutions for your products and applications. At our center, individual casting processes can be carried out on different steel belt surfaces with your casting solutions and tested for their suitability and optimized if necessary. We support you in product development, process design and testing as well as in the manufacture of initial production batches.

STEEL BELT CASTING AND DRYING SYSTEM FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SOLID SURFACES LIKE ARTIFICIAL MARBLE. One special type of the casters made by Berndorf Band Group are dependable manufacturing systems for a variety of solid surface materials like artificial marble. For more than 20 years, Berndorf has been manufacturing complex machines including their chemical know-how and their application of production technology that breaks new ground. Berndorf steel belt casters enable customers to manufacture artificial marble sheets based both on acrylic and polyester with variable widths.
